Decisive Magazine Shoot

Finally....We found a model for this shoot. 48hrs is NOT enough time to do a casting for a magazine photo shoot. Did you hear that "Groovy" Editor? LOL!

Anyhoo, after a looong week of casting, sending messages to models, answering messages from models, we finally found Laina. Yaay.

Friday we went to this Amazing store called Dress 'Luxary on loan' in Rockridge for the fitting. The store is going to be featured in the Winter/Spring edition of Decisive magazine. The store was adorable and chic, and was well matched by such an adorable and sweet owner. There was a cozy sitting area in the middle of the store with end tables stacked with fashion magazines and books. A few feet away was the reception desk. Followed by cute dressing rooms on each side. The dressing rooms were draped closed by cream curtains, inside a full length mirror and the walls were lined with gold high heels from size 5-11. Cause how can u get the full effect of your dress without a lil height. Lining the walls on each side of the store was a long rack. The left rack was full of quality designer dresses..(Dolce Gabbana, Carolina Herrera, Donna Karan..etc) on loan. Everything from short party dresses, sequence 'Beyonce' type numbers, to long elegant Ball gowns. On the right rack, the same amazing quality dresses, but for sale. Each season new dresses swap out the old ones, to stay up to date. In the right corner of the store in front of the sale rack is a dresser with evening bags and clutches.

The Owner assisted Alli and I in pulling dresses for Laina to try on. Our goal,  to tell a story with our selections. 3 long gowns and 3 short party dresses. The Theme being, "look amazing while 'recycling' fashion". Here are the 6 Beautiful dresses:

1st a black sequenced, spaghetti strapped Marchesa Notte gown

2nd  a red, deep v, ruffled sleeved Marchesa Notte gown

3rd a indigo draped Donna Karan gown

4th a black strapless Issue party dress

5th  a cream and gold, corset Dolce Gabbana cocktail dress

and 6th a black feather accentuated Carolina Herrera cocktail dress.

Ooh la la. Today after work I went on my search for the accessories. Together with a few pieces of my own and here is my spread:
and a few made from recycled materials, twisted metal, glass, shells and feathers

Whew...what a busy week. Tomorrow is the photo shoot. I'm excited to 'Crystalize' it. Cant wait to see our hard work in print. More to come..
